Here’s the story of how I became a Heat fan:
I often have to tell people this because I live in Pennsylvania and I like a team from Florida. When I was in kindergarten, around 6 years old, I played basketball for the first time. All of the teams in the league were named after NBA teams like the Mavericks, Lakers, Spurs, etc. My team was the Heat and that’s the first and only NBA team I knew at the time, so I became a fan of them. It just so happened that the year I became a fan of them was when they got lebron and bosh to pair with wade. I remember watching the OKC vs. Miami finals. The thunder won the first game and then the heat won the next four. I’ve been a fan of the heat ever since, through thick and thin, losing lebron, bosh, wade, having some down years where we missed the playoffs. I’m so happy that this team is on the right track and are starting to emerge as contenders in the east for the first time since the lebron era. We’ve got young rising stars like bam, Herro, nunn and I’m happy to be a heat fan! Let’s go Heat!
