They are Corporate savages. 2K now sets the prices of how much each card is worth and how much it can be sold for. You can buy MT or VC and just purchase players/complete sets to get completion reward in the Player Market without the need to buy packs. This game mode is dead for a majority of NMS players.

I donāt blame everyone for being cynical as 2K does not have the best track record, but I think this actually works out best for NMS players without hindering those who want to spend big (Duh, 2K is a company they want to be profitable). Iāve always been mostly NMS up until later seasons where I would buy MT, but in general, I donāt spend money on the game. However, one thing I didnāt enjoy is that a key part of NMS lifestyle was sniping. I buy the game every year because I like to play basketball, not spend hours doing market analysis and hunt for cards someone brainlessly sold for too low. There are a lot of pros to this new system.

Being able to just get the cards I want without a pricing guide or staying up until 4AM when it dips in price. If the card I want is 20k, I need 20k. Not 35k because somebody decided to price fix them after we found out they have godly animations or 420k because heās the gatekeeper to some OP reward.

Free rentals. Previously if you wanted to try a card out or get their XP, you were going to at least take a loss on auction tax, if not more when you sold it back.

No more 4 hour wait to get a card. Nothing was more annoying than having to wait until 3PM to get a card because it wasnāt a BIN. Now, everything seems to be BIN so if you have the MT.

No more annoying losses that come from selling at the wrong time. Seeing a card going for 500k all day just to put yours up and it goes for 380k because youāre in the wrong time zone was so frustrating.

Pay to play 2k controls everything price of cards mt season pass. U canāt even save your tokens. 2k price fixed the whole thing no snipes no auction house. 2k said taking the auction house fair for everyone bullshit.

You are just giving extreme examples of working the AH. You did not have to do all these things and still would have been able to have the best team sniping during regular hours, paying couple of thousands more for a card and still have the best team without spending money. This is gone now. Not possible anymore. There is no good thing removing a market. Now you have a monopoly and this is always bad for pricing. Mark my words.

But just a question : It is possible to buy XP levels for the season pass? Like, would players be able to reach lvl 40 day one if they pay for it? If yeah, thereās going to be a lot of Kyries day 1ā¦

Yeah, you can buy extra levels for 2$ a piece. Battle pass gives you 10 levels, so people can pay 80$ in the first few minutes of a season for level 40.
Absolutely. Without playing a single game, you can level skip to level 40 (diamond Kyrie) and get every level reward by buying a $20 season pass to skip levels 1-10. Then to skip levels 11-40, purchase 30 levels skips for $2 each. Total $80.
To finish off the squadā¦ purchase Diamond players from the player market for who knows how much.
In summaryā¦ $150 for 25th Anniversary Edition with all the bonus items, $80 to get to level 40, and assume another $100 to get top cards for release week content. So for about $330ā¦ you already have a god squad without having to do anything which is the exact example/definition of PAY TO WIN.

One thing that this makes better: makes spending real money on packs far less attractive which effectively kills the gambling aspect which has always been my major bone on contention.
As an offline only nms player thus doesnāt affect me as much as it does others

There has always been a monopoly. Whether it be 2K, whales, MT bots. Fixing prices on badges, gatekeeper cards, etc. I remember there was a sapphire in 2K17 selling for over 100k because it was rare and price fixed. Or last year when Derozan was 400k because he was needed for Tim Thomas. At least now we have clarity. We know exactly how much the card will cost. Thereās not artificial scarcity reliant on who is pulling packs and what the odds are and there is already an established timetable for when the price will be lowered, rather than waiting and having the price increase because the packs are gone. I know snipers are gonna miss that aspect of the game, especially guys who were making bank off selling MT, but as a non-sniper, who just wants to play the game and use the cards I really want, I donāt see this as an issue.

Even if some cards like Derozan were price fixed but you get the majority of all other cards for market value. And to stick to your Derozan example: before you had at least a chance to snipe Derozan (even as a budget player) and get Tim Thomas for a decent price. Now you will not have the option that is my point. And these OP cards/rewards will be freaking expensive so that NO nms player will be able to afford the card. I think you are long enough with 2k to know that 2k wants to push players to pull their wallets. Now they created the perfect conditions. Are you telling me you trust 2k to price their cards fair so that nms players will have the chance to get them by some grinding? I dont.

Tbh I think nms players are pretty fucked this year. Unless we really get a lot of MT by just playing, I doubt they will have enough resources to build competitive squad online

It definitely sounds like they are copying MLB. However, I think it only works if you have the option of also grinding for the best cards. Too often that has not been an option in 2K (with sim notable exceptions).
