Was commenting on a FB group and guys there were going back to early Playstation basketball games. Think I’m just old now, lol, born in 1977 and my first console was the Atari 2600. These are the earliest games I remember playing. How about others and their earliest basketball game memories or even any video game?
I don’t remember playing a basketball game before NBA Live 98 or 99.
Oldest video game I can remember playing is on an old Atari but can’t be very specific outside of remembering bowling games and shooting games with stick figures.
First game i played was on pc 286. It was this one.
Pretty sure nba jam on nes was my first experience. it has me thinking about how early releases weren’t always a thing because I was born the same year it released but it was still popular when i played my first video game
Sale, but didnt like it. Same for bulls VS blazers ons SNES. NBA jam was my first real liking experience followed nu NBA live 97 on my SNES
I think the first bball game I ever played was Double Dribble on the old NES console. My first 5 on 5 bball game was NBA Live 95.
I had Bulls vs Blazers LOL I also had Super NBA Tecmo!
OMG I swear I had this! I completely forgot! it must have been what - 1982?
My first one would have been circa 1979. My 6-year old self would be amazed at today’s video games and unlikely to complain too much about the gameplay flaws that annoy us…
I’m right there with you. I didn’t play basketball games until the nes (double dribble and hoops), but the 2600 was my first foray into gaming as well.
basketball games should be on those family computer games or game n watch but cant really remember, as i am more into street fighter, mortal kombat or mario series. But started NBA JAM in mid 90’s then NBA live. 2K is not yet a thing that time, and EA sports dominates the basketball. If you are using ‘BROADCAST VIEW’ then you are an OG
I smoked to much to remember that far back lol. Only thing entrenched in my brain is……. “He’s heating up……. He’s on Fire”
