Out of curiosity I wanted to see how badly 2K is manipulating the ratings of cards this year. Using my spreadsheet method I updated it for the new ratings system. It still does not factor in height, tendencies, or badging, but just based on the attributes you get a ‘real’ overall rating, so you don’t have to rely on the one 2K gives the card for pack-selling purposes. It counts ball-handling more for guards, and rebounding more for bigs, etc. Here’s the master list.

I’ve changed this over to a live spreadsheet… easier for me to edit, and easier for you to search!

Let me know if you want me to add any cards!

91 Magic

I assign a value out of 5 for each attribute, so that part is definitely subjective, but most of them are no brainers like passing accuracy for PG, block for a C, etc. So if the value for passing accuracy is 5, and you have 99 in that attribute, it will pass along a perfect overall rating contribution toward the rating.

93 Outside scoring
91 Shot close 2
89 Shot mid 4
97 Shot 3pt 4
98 Shot IQ
92 Free throw 4
98 Offensive consistency
78 Inside scoring
97 Driving layup 4
25 Standing dunk
36 Driving dunk 2
89 Draw foul 3
35 Post moves
35 Post hook
52 Post fade 1
97 Hands
89 Athleticism
88 Speed 5
91 Acceleration 4
73 Vertical 2
48 Strength 1
98 Stamina
98 Hustle
90 Overall durability
87 Playmaking
88 Speed with ball 5
97 Ball handle 5
93 Passing accuracy 5
72 Passing vision 2
97 Passing IQ 2
79 Defending

75 Perimeter defense 5

84 Pick & roll defense IQ

97 Reaction time 2
85 Steal 3

I just paste their rating from 2KMTC into my spreadsheet and the rating is calculated.

That’s for PG ^^

At C, I make a distinction between shooting C and non-shooting C. Only because you could have a player with 99 rebounding and 99 block shot but only 70 3PT, if you don’t use your C to shoot 3PT it shouldn’t count against him.

91 Magic Shooting C: 82.60 – Non-Shooting C: 83.69

With the token market update, I need to see C/PG

What do you mean? Did they update the card to allow that Amethyst Magic to play PG?? I wouldn’t have noticed, I’m doing this out of curiosity :joy: if that’s the case, this card is 81.63 at PG.

Not bad.

It just goes to show that 2K gives card tiers whatever they want and has nothing to do with card quality. It won’t be long before we have rubies that are 90+ in my ratings system.
