Hi guys im back after a 2k21 hiatus. Not sure if anyone even remembers who i am now. PS what happened to jdealla and quantumkat? how did they both get suspended? lol
Back to the question. Here i am contemplating life. The game looks solid this year, i really dont want to sink too much money/time on this game, but i wanna have that feeling of greening my shots and hopefully winning games. Maybe i could buy a little MT here and there (is this even a thing anymore? i guess it always will be) and purely buy the cheapest ābestā players i can get and only the basic token rewards cards (excluding preorder bonuses). can I get away with just playing draft/limited/tto? maybe like how @HarryLundt did it in previous years? I donāt even want to do evos if possible. Potentially I can expand on this thread over the weeks with guys who play myteam more than I hopefully will. More for me to get advise than anything else.
Cards that fit the bill (probably myteam limited players - mainly sapphire bcos I we myself just using 3 tto players and the rest of the time mainly playing limited)
PG - Hinrich (duo), Barry, Darren Collison
SG - Ben Gordon (duo), Drexler (duo), Roger Mason
SF - Jalen Green, Cade, Edwards
PF - MPJ, Jumaine Jones
C - Saric, Sabonis (duo)
Cheap rubies I could use - Lillard, Ball, Siakam
TTO would probably be a combination of Lillard, Jalen Green, Cade, Siakam, MPJ.
What do you guys think? is this feasible? overall strategy and week 1 cards. Iāll probably be very slow to buy new cards, maybe waiting at least up to 2 days on each drop and card prices have settled. should I buy the game? or will I get horribly addicted like before.
You can probably play casual but I remember how into it you were a few years ago, wouldnāt surprise me if you get tons of hours of no money spent⦠You just may end up totally consumed again with your own goals but totally fine to play the way you want to play.
I played about 3 hours in total, just playing Limited. Back door cuts is being abused like the curry slide. I mean itās super easy to defend, but itās definitely the meta Iāve seen so far. I played about 9 games and only one guy actually attempted 3 pointers.
I caved⦠but I definitely wonāt be spending that much time on this game. Iāll play a little more at the start to learn the game but my target is less than an hour a day. Maybe will do a post on my boring little journey
at the same time tho u do want to have fun with less OP cards at the start of the year. and MAYBE with the playing field more level. maybe Iāll really document this just for the fun of it
In Asia on the switch tho there are so few players and many have a good team. Just played my first TTOn game ever and came against the dude who had 50 TTOn wins today (on the leaderboard) and he had Gus Gerrard and Dan Issel and every possession he would back down and post spin. Somehow being my rusty self i won 23-20
Avoid unlimited. Play draft, challenges for tickets (to enter draft mode), casual ltd. You will be fine it seems. Offline is always up there with these.
Iām doing pretty well NMS so far. I havenāt even received my preorder bonuses and Iāve built a decent lineup, but it is taking a bit of grinding. Evoāing all the starters is definitely the move as far as building a decent base and looking for cheap duos.
Seems like every year I buy a box or two until I get one diamond this ye or something about 100k in years past and I can usually turn that over a few times and grind domination enough to get bye the rest of yearā¦
I only play limited and unlimited, I wonāt play a mode that is not fun just for the rewards. If I want to get ārewardedā Iāll just flip cards in the auction house, itās a faster lane & mt will last longer than the reward cards.
