I’ve been really wanting to get into the Batman comics for a long while now and looking for some recommendations. I’ve started the Knightfall series which seems really good, and also I am wondering what are Batman Comics Darkest Moments?
Surely one of the darkest would have to be the story of Jason Todd’s death then how he gets resurrected from one of Ra’s lazarus pitts.( i watched the under the red hood movie last night which I enjoyed but already knew the story).
Anyways what are some great Batman comics and/or darkest batman moments

For sure. I’ve watched the movie too but I want to get the book too. Death in the family is one too that is very famous in batman with jason todd’s death and its a book i want to get as well

“The Killing Joke” and “A Death in the Family” are 2 of my all time favorite.

Pretty much the Frank Miller graphic novels. I’d start with Batman Year One (it’s the quintessential Batman origins comic and as the title mentions, covers his first year as Batman) and then try the Dark Knight Returns (covers an aging Batman’s “return” to crime fighting after Jason Todd’s death).
I myself am trying to get back into reading more about Batman lore so I’ll be checking out “The Long Halloween” next. Apparently that comic is what the 2021 Batman film with Robert Pattinson is based off of (or at least borrows quite a few elements from). I believe Long Halloween covers Batman’s second year fighting crime.

Dark Knight Returns is my favorite.
So many different badass moments and it’s dark and gritty.
